So, I can either do the following things:

1) Run 1x 1000BASE-LX (Netgear AGM732F) of 75m length for computer/server and 8 CAT6 lines so that I can run HDMI etc over CAT6 if need be.

2) Run 32x seperate CAT6 lines 75m each, so that I can patch each one.

Which would you suggest, taking into consideration the 75m run.

Cheers

You're going to have to clarify what you want to achieve, sorry. What sort of traffic are you going to push over the link, what is it linking etc?

It is linking the "main server" with computers/laptops/PS3s all over the house, with up to 8 simultaneous connections on the network, be it to the internet or to the file storage on the server.

OK, but that doesn't explain why 32 cat6 cables would be necessary if you didn't go the fibre route. Are you uplinking into another switch?

Well I would if I used the fibre connection, but otherwise no, but all the cables have to do the same 75m run before going off to their serperate "destinations".

1Gb over fibre split 32 ways will be a lot slower than gigabit links to each place. There's no real reason to use fibre though since Cat5e is good for gigabit links. If you need gigabit speeds between everything then the separate runs is the way to go, but only you know your usage patterns.
