I think this is the best graphics card i've ever bought.

The main point was upgrading from AGP to PCI-E. I used 2 have a 6800 GT so i was only expecting a slight improvement.

After having this 7600 GT since just after it's launch date i've finally got it setup and running.

I have 2 say i'm impressed:

- in 2D mode it's almost inaudable

- it's small and doesn't require more than 75W

- in CSS full settings and 1280x1024 2AA 4AF i get around 120FPS (similar to a 6800 GT).

- in UT2k4 full settings and 1280x1024 i get around 250 FPS comapred to 80-100 on a 6800 GT).

- Wacked this thing up to 600/1600 and it's still stable

Now as soon as i can, i'll get sum 3d mark scores posted.

If you only wana spend around 140 quid on graphics card then what r u waiting for ? who needs more than 100FPS on full settings and res anyway ?

Heheh, I see you got my ata drive running while we sort our your sata drive. Good to know the cards going well, we should both be able to have some fun with some high res gaming...now all you need is 2GB ram and a decent dual core for uber machineness lol

finally got that 3d mark 06 score for you guys to see.

this score is with both the CPU and graphics card overclocked.

it looks good to me but i hope it's right for the setup (Venice @ 2.4GHz, 1GB, 7600 GT @ 600/1600)

06 has finally taken the step to up the default resolution.
I thought that score was a bit too good - scores the same as my X1800XT :p

On a side note - if you want to play games using the BF2 / Fear engine (should they spawn children) you wont be happy with ya rig until you upgrade ya ram.

The 7600GT is a great card for the 1024 pose and can tackle slightly demanding games at 1280, but as soon as it mixes with tough games you lose the ability for AA and what not... but heck I guess most mid range GFXs will :)
