Just been messing with my new CPU.

My trusty 7600 had a -50 curve on all cores and the new 9700x now has a -30 curve on all cores.

In Cinebench, I've managed to go from 783 points:

To 1,164 points:

I then chose a pre-set from the BIOS for PBO. Which set the max to 75ºC, still with a -30 curve.

That lead to 1,285 points with the CPU now boosting about 400Mhz faster, the CPU is also using 100w instead of 60w (my e-peen has now grown substantially):

I did try 85ºC profile but for all the extra heat and power, it only allowed for the odd 50Mhz extra on each core and netted a slightly higher 1,308 points. I felt the earlier profile was more of a sweet spot so I'm using that. :) I have bumped the max theoretical clock for PBO by 150Mhz but it never achieves it due to the thermal limit. I did also have to adjust my fan profiles as it was quite loud at that sustained temperature. Knocked them down to about 65% and instead upped the AIO pump to 80%.

Also ran a quick comparison in 3dmark.

That is all for my ramblings today. I might go and try some games at some point! :p
