7600gs problems

Hi, just bought a 7600GS after my 6800GT died, It is ok when using it in 2D (word, photoshop etc) but as soon as I play a game it goes jerky,Splinter Cell that came with it will not play, 3dmark06 locks up, command and conquer generals locks up.

Tried latest drivers, older drivers nothing works. I put my old 6200 in and can play these ok.

Any thought before I take the card back?

I agree, sounds like a power issue. Try it in a stripped down system (no unnecessary cards or drives) to see if there is enough free power.

everything is attached properly fan working, tried it as the only one connected to the molex, still no better running 3d.

a 500w blue storrm shuld be enough to power it, right melbourne?

from what I've read it has 2x +12v lines outputting 15a each............

I seem to jinxed with graphics card problems lately , and I have done a fresh windows reinstall just to be sure.

I would have thought so as the 7600 GS is quite an undemanding card, power wise - 27W, and the 6800 GT was 55W. Even the 6200 requires 35W, so scrap the PSU idea!

Thanks for your advice, I returned the card for a refund ( i did not want to hang on to it longer than I needed, I was not getting anywhere fast with it) back in with the 6200.
