i have £20 to spend on getting my gfx "upped" so to speak. i have no job, (im doing my A2s, (and saving any EMA for uni)) and have a spare £20.

i have a 5pn-e, E2140 (2.6GHZ) and pc6400 corair 2x1GB RAM (the xms stuff).

and i have a DDR2 (pathetic i know) 256mb 7600GS. i average about 20fps at 1204x768 on low/med settings, with no AA or AF so was wondering for £20, if i get another, would i see like 30FPS? (therefore enabling me to go down to 20 with higher settings)

and can i use any brand of 7600GS or do i ahev to find another Inno3D? and do i have to get another one with DDR2 or can i go for GDDR3?

I've not seen a 7600 GS go for that small amount, have you looked in members market and maybe stick up a wanted post ??

Or checking the bay of e ??

you could stick your 7600 up for says £35 on that auction site or the MM

and you can pick up an x1950 pro's / 8600gts for around the £40-50 mark delivered now :) with either of those cards, 1280x1024 with most games up high and sometimes maxxed is easily reachable, I prefer the 1950 more than the 8600 because it has a 256bit interface over the 8600's 128bit.

your CPU/ram/mobo setup eats mine for brekky and i can run Carbon, C&C3,WOW, Bioshock and TDU maxxed out at 1440x900 and sup come at mid/high at 1440x900. Your CPU will make a big difference, i get around 5300 in 3dm 06, you would be in the 6k's i would think

do it. The X1900 cards are still really powerful, and what you sacrifice in DX10 capability...

wait...

you don't sacrifice anything for the sake of DX10. VERY good move to get an X19K card at a low price like that.
