7600GT Benchmarks?

Hey all,

My mate's currently got a X700 in his machine, and is wanting to upgrade to a 7600GT - I'm thinking this will be quite a worth while upgrade, but I can't seem to find any benchmarks comparing the two cards. I'm inparticularly interested in benchmarks on the Source engine (Half-Life 2/CSS) as that's what the card is going to mainly used on.

well X700 < 6800GT < 6800 ultra < 7600GT so do the math, the 7600GT is hugely faster than the X700 series at well...absolutely everything

if all he plays is source youd possibly be better off with an x1800gto - aource LOVES ati - also, some cards do unlock to x1800xl's

either way will be a lot faster than an x700

Can be flashed to unlock the extra 4 pipes aswell and they overclock very well making them very very quick cards

I'll certainly suggest that to my mate - unfortunately I don't think he's an overclocker, so could be quite unlikely. Not too sure if the 7600GT is part of a package deal he's going for - so he may not even be able to swap it out

the 7600gt is more than capable. i had one running 1280x1024 with 4x and 8x with no problems what so ever, either card you go for they perform the same as eachother.

Hi Gashman - nothing to do with this thread (sorry about that) but can you tell me your mobo settings for clocking to 2.7ghz as I have the same CPU and mobo.
