I have a 7600GT to tide me over till the 9xxx series next year and was thinking of trying SLi for the first time.

First of all, will any brand of 7600GT work with another 7600GT?

Then, is it a simply a case of installing the new card, attaching the SLi bridge, installing drivers and ticking the SLi option?

The 7600GT is dead cheap now, so despite what could be a problematic hit on my generic 480W garbage and a rise in case temps, i'm willing to give it a whirl to up my current FPS in current games a little.

Any 7600GT can be SLI'd together and its just as you say. Dont forget to flip the sli paddle on the mobo if yours has one.

7600GT SLI isnt that fast tho.

8600GT is only another tenner and a pair of these in SLI give pretty good performance for the money.

But, if it was my cash id be getting either an X1950 pro ( £76 ), 2900 Pro ( £96 ) or an 3850 pro ( £100 ) or for a little more a 256Mb 8800GT ( £130 ) :)

EDIT : if you already have a 7600GT then i guess adding another can only help i suppose
