7600GT lockups

Hello,

I bought the following card last week from Ocuk: -

Leadtek GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (AGP) - Retail

I'm getting random lockup / freezes while playing World of Warcraft resulting in having to reboot. I haven't a clue what the problem can be but i've tried reinstalling a fresh windows and updating to different graphic drivers but it's still the same.

I did a quick search on google last night and it seems i'm not the only person this is happening to as there were a lot of similar threads.

I'm making this post to ask if anybody has a fix for this or any advice on what to do.

It would be helpful if you could post you rig specs, specifically:-

Processor
Motherboard
RAM
PSU

O yeah soz.

My rig is as follows: -

Processor - AMD 3400+
Motherboard - Asus K8V SE Deluxe
RAM - 1GB Corsair XMS
PSU - Enermax 550w


I previously used a 6800 Ultra so I can't see it being a power issue.

I had similar problems but with an ATI X1950 Pro.

Try testing various drivers, make sure you use a driver cleaning program when installing fresh drivers.

Test a selection of games, if possible patch them also if you encounter problems (to rule this out).

Then I would try running 3DMark. Post the results on here and then we can eliminate issues.

I used Drivercleaner to remove my old 6800 Ultra driver.

I'll try 3dmark to see if it happens.

What driver version you using ?
Use the 93.71's if you're not already as these are rock solid gaming drivers.
Check your power connectors aswell by removing them and plugging them in a few times they may be muddy also reseat the GFX card.

don't think the 7600GT requires a power supply (mine doesn't)
