7600GT owners OC thread

I've noticed a fair few people on here who have been very pleased with their 7600GT cards, creating threads to rave about them - and why not! They are great value for money cards.

Thought it would be worth starting a thread for us all to compare versions, drivers, cooling, overclocking and benchmarks etc.

So who else has one?

Well, I'm about to order the BFG 7600GT, so I nearly own one!

Which one have you got? I seen a pic in another thread of yours with a Zalman on. I'm going to take the Zalman off my soon to be retired AGP 6800GS and transfer it to the 7600.

What's your view on whether you need to put the RAM heatsinks on too?

Also, I've seen your 3dmark score, but have you got any FPS results in games like COD2, Far Cry etc?

my XFX 7600 GT can do 600/1600 perfectly stable

here's my 3d mark score at that clock (with a venice at 2.4GHz)

I've never got a frame counter running on CoD2 / BF2 / Quake 4 etc - but I play at 1280 x 1024 4xAA and max AF. Never drop below 30fps, normally more like 60 +.

Also play Trackmania on the highest settings with the above AA and AF - the benchmark program gives me a 55fps average

What programs are people using to OC?

I'm just using the average "winfox" program I got with the card. Something better would be nice - anyone?

Rivatuner is good. Don't know if it supports the 7600GT yet though.

Sadly it doesn't - that's what I've used hostorically. I think I've tried RC 8 (or 18) is there a newer one?

My zalman is running at 5v - going to up it to 12v tonight and will check out power strip. Does it work like ATI Tool in letting it auto detect? I hate that about riva tuner.

Same gfx settings with Athlone @ 2Ghz - 6732

System is only a semi-clean install, with coolbits I can get 625/830 but doesn't bench so well.

got you all some 3d mark 05 scores now

Setup (Stock):
XFX 7600GT @ 580/1500 with Venice @ 2210MHz + 1GB Geil Value

Setup (218FSB):
XFX 7600GT @ 586/1516 with Venice @ 2406MHz + 1GB Geil Value

600/1600 is perfectly stable for me in games, but a no no for 3d mark 05

this is with the card at 630/1680.
