Hi, I have just installed a more up to date driver for my 7600GT, followed by Coolbits. I have gone to the clockspeed options and seen the following defaults:

The memory clock seems to be twice what it was previously. Is this dangerous & do I need to re-install something please?

It is supposed to be twice what it really is, DDR stands for double data rate, so when the ram is clocked at 500mhz, its at 1000mhz because its DDR memory and double the speed.

I have mine clocked at 605/1520 so you should be able to safely bring yours to those speeds. Mine peaks out at 666/1560 but it still runs all my games fine on the lower speeds and I prefer stability over the few extra fps.

The way the driver reports clock speed changed in recent drivers, incase you think you going mad. Also try the 100.95's at guru3d.com, they work really well with my 7600gt.

Have to install manually with a modded inf and maybe use ATI tool to overclock, but worth the effort for some boost in shader perfomance.

yeh 1.5 is about the peak for memory, and it's around that area anyway, but i've had my core stable on 655 so u should be able to get some more out of it.

I have more luck with the memory on mine (BFG) over the core. My mem tops out at around 1640mhz whereas my core hates anything over 600mhz.

My Xpertvision 7600GT reaches 700 core / 1650 memory. Most cards will get to 650 / 1600 wthout problems. I run mine at 650/1600 24/7 to keep it well within it's limits.
