7600GT vs 7900GS

I've been told by a lot of people that the 7600GT is the best card bang for buck. However the OcUk 7900GS is only about £12 more than the BFG 7600GT. Is this worth paying the extra money for?

Yes the 7900GS is a much faster card, I'd go for the 256Mb version. With a bit of OC you can get near 7900GT performance.

i have a 7900GS 512mg, the cheap OCuK one which is oustanding for the price, out the box i overclocked it to 550/1450 which is abit quicker and only at 38degrees cous of the massive cooler on it

EDIT

if u take a pencil and score on of the resitors it pushes more volts through and u can clock it to aroun 700+ but i dont want to try it

7900GS is easily faster, especially at higher res or with AA\AF.

well i get a fraction under 10k in '05 (9950 to be exact), what does your 6800 get?

galaxy 7900GS 512mb user, core volt modded running at 715mhz

simple enough to do as well

7600gt can be had for £90 quid inc vat and delivery brand new. the 7900gs costs £125 inc vat and delivery. thats more than 12 quid difference between the 2 cards.

The performance between the two is massive,

not the price,even by your example.

7900 is worth the money
