From what I can tell, the 7600GT is better. I'm on a budget so obviously I'm looking for the best deal, but even so, the cheaper one actually looks better here? Am I missing something?

Yeah the only major difference is that the 7600GT has 12 p-pipelines and the 7900GS has 20!

got the pallit 7900gs and my bro has the geforce 7600gt,mine is better in everything we compard them with,benchmarks and games.
the 7900gs is a good buy and definitely worth the extra cash.

Comparing my old GT's 3dmark scores with 7900GSs I've seen, it doesn't lose out by much at all in the SM2.0 tests, but it gets its head handed to it in SM3.0/HDR.

7600GT = 128-bit Memory Interface

7900GS = 256-bit Memory Interface

If your budget allows for the extra £27 then defo get the 7900GS!

Whilst the 7600GT is a decent bang for buck card, the 7900GS is *up to* twice as fast when gaming at 1280x1024 res with 4xAA + 8AF, great overclockers as well.

/I'll leave it to others to try talk you into buying a X1950 Pro instead (which is a tad faster, but a tad dearer).
