Hi there,

This is going to be my gaming/multi-purpose computer :) It will hopefully be very quiet as well. I'm going for a white with red accent theme. It's been done plenty before but it never looks bad imo.

Bits I have or have ordered so far:

Corsair 760T white
6700K
H110i GTX cooler
Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7
8GB RAM
390 Strix
Corsair RMI 850w
Alchemy braided cables
2 white cathodes

Despite all the Corsair gear I'm not actually sponsored by them </3 I like to brand match
Haven't decided on a SSD yet. Will probably use an old HDD until I decide and have enough money.
Monitor might be the Acer Predator XG270HU, but I'm still undecided.

My main goal for this rig is to nail the cable management. I went for the Alchemy cables because they look way nicer with the coloured plastic connectors and no heat shrink.

May change the H110i fans in the future to something prettier like Noiseblockers, and then eventually the case fans.

Pic of what I have right now:

The colours I wanted weren't in stock so I ordered a mix of red and white. There were meant to be more white cables but I think it will still look nice

Building will commence at some point next week. Very excited :p

Quick update...

Built the rig yesterday :D all went perfect! Just remember you can't install Windows 7 from a USB on Z170, or at least without drivers.

Pics to follow tonight

I'm liking the look of this build log. I didn't know Windows 7 was old enough not to support the new Z170 boards :) Looking forward to seeing the system :D

That's weird, did you check if your boot USB is set as UEFI or BIOS?

Pics finally :D I somehow forgot how to resize photos to a nice size. I found out MS paint does a fantastic job at this :)

Here's the first pic  the Gaming 7 looks really nice in person, love the matte black colour. Photos unfortunately won't give most of the pictured pc parts justice

Weird thing I noticed.... The I/O shield has a cable. It lights up red

My first modular power supply! At this stage I spent a lot of time deciding which way to mount it. Decided to go TTL style and have the fan facing up. Looks nicer that way.

Glad I made that decision

The 390 Strix! Photos really don't give this beaut justice. Shame the white LED on top of the card is pretty dim tho

6700k and H110i GTX fitted. Cooler was super easy to mount, took about 5 minutes. Routing all the cables was quite easy as well. There's so much room behind the back panel. I really love the Alchemy cables <3 I do wish I had cable combs tho, and I will recommend them to anyone who has or is going to get braided cables. I will be ordering some combs very soon.

Money shot! The white cathodes use nasty coloured spaghetti cables which are pretty short. I may have to get rid of them for LEDs. Shame though cathodes look much better imo

Overclocked the i7 to 4.7 and the 390 to 1100. The computer is very quiet. The noisiest parts are the case fans and hard drive.

This is not the final build. I've still gotta get another stick of RAM, 1TB worth of SSD space and replace the case fans. My next purchase will be a new monitor though, since I'm currently using a 40 inch TV and really makes my eyes sore. Getting this monitor: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-078-AC

Also getting a new desk next week, so I can have the computer on the desk and not the floor
