765M or 850M

I've looked around to see which is better, everything I see people keep saying 850m ddr3 is better but on gpuboss the 765m ddr5 seems to excel, just wondering which would you pick and why?

850M

Based on Maxwell, runs faster (around 15%, give or take 2-3%) and cooler.

If you can overclock it to 1000MHz, you're reaching 860M's level, which is nice.

Assuming the 850m only has DDR3, get the 765m.

The lack of GDDR5 will really affect its performance as it will totally starved of memory bandwidth.

Yeah the laptops are almost the same price only difference is the 850m ddr3 and 765m all the other specs are the same apart from illuminated keyboards so its going to be the deciding factor.

gpuboss comparisons are meh.

get whichever one of those 2 that has GDDR5

Oh, missed the part about DDR3, go with 765M then, DDR3 version of 850M is slower. (Assuming you're gaming at 1920x1080, 850M pulls ahead at lower resolutions, especially 1366x768, where smaller memory bandwidth isn't an issue)

Also, GPUboss is a terrible way to compare GPUs, it compares shaders, clock speed, memory speed, etc, more isn't always better.
