Can you guys help me out?
I have just got my new motherboard for my dream build (MSI Z87-GD65-GAMING S1150 Intel Z87 DDR3 ATX)
Now all I need is the i7 4770K and some GPU's...
Oh and I have the Antec 850W GOLD High Current Pro PSU incase you're wondering about wattage and stuff :)
What do you guys recommend? 1 780 or 2 770's?
I've looked around and it seems to be a mixed opinion.
Anyone have any benchmark tests?

Any help is much appreciated :)

Single 780
two 770s is just 680 SLI with a core/ram overclock.

It was a hit I was prepared to take till the 780s come down and I can get a second

ooh that changes the complexion somewhat, if you're 3d then go 770 sli, you need the min framerate for 3d.

I think another key thing to consider is that- the type of games that you would or think you would play scale well with SLI? Take random mmos for example...most of them scale poorly with multi-GPUs.

The thing is while the GTX780 is seem to be an "affordable" fastest single GPU card (if ignoring the out of this world priced Titan), in terms of value it ain't that great, considering even CF7950 and SLI GTX670/GTX760 (which cost less than a single GTX780) would be quite a big margin faster than the GTX780. Considering you got a 120Hz monitor, you could really used the extra grunt of the two GPUs over a single GTX780...but like I said above, the kind of games you gonna play most should be the deciding factor between dual-GPUs or single GTX780.

I'd go for two 770. Two is better than one and the way i like to look at it is, if one breaks you have another gpu to keep using. :D

no,no,no,no...yes. To be fair though I have a 27" Asus 3d vision monitor. The oculus on the other hand is truly paradigm changing.. you wait and see. 3D vision is a bit meh after the initial 'woooo' has worn off, it just gets in the way. oculus on the other hand is 'in the game'

I would go with the 780 personally as it gives you an updgrade path of 780SLI at a later date if the one starts to struggle and it'll maintain it's resale value better
