7700k temps

Does 7700K have issues with high temps? I have read about the spikes and sometimes of the high idle temps.
Have the option to change my current system(i7 2700K) to a 7700K but if this is an ongoing issue that would put me off.

I believe it's a relatively rare event for early batches.

My stock 7700k idle is around 25-28c. And under heavy load peaks around 65-68c on a noctua cooler.

thats not bad at all! the reports i have read saying idle around 40-50C and spikes of 60-70C!

My 7700k was delidded from the shop, I'm using a Corsair H100 to cool it.
Running at 4.8Ghz with 1.3v, I idle at 30c and while gaming I max out at 65c in most games but in The Witcher 3 I hit 75c.

I'm installing my custom loop tomorrow!

Mine's delidded too. I'm still in the process of overclocking but after about half an hour of Prime95 at 1.2v and 4.6GHz mine was in the low 60s under Prime95 (non AVX) load. That's with water so I'm not sure if that temp is particularly good or not, considering the relatively low voltage. I'll push it higher when I get round to it but want to make sure it's solid at that voltage first so I can get an idea of whether I have a half decent or a crap chip - usually I always get the crap ones

Did you have it on Air? I have all the watercooling gear from mu previous build - apart from the GPU block - i380 block and Mosta RADs, AP15 fans, Dual D5 pumps ect ect, just dont have time to spend that much setting things up. SO i was considering sating Air where the new chip arrives.
Also kind of hard to find the delid tool.
