Hi there I have the choice of either a qx9650 C0 stepping or a q9650 E0 stepping. Which one should I go for? Im looking to overclock this beauty so which would be the better clocker??

Theoretically, the qx will be a better clocker because there's more flexibility with multipliers.

The question to ask is, is it really worth the humongous premium? Personally, I'd say not.

I believe the q9650 overclocks better than the qx9650, the stepping revision makes more difference than the unlocked multiplier. Interesting given the price difference.

yea i was leaning towards the q9650 as its supposed to be a better clocker with the e0 stepping, or so I have been told. I asked the question because im not sure how true it is. Ive just pre ordered one of those corsair h50 coolers so I thought I might as well upgrade my cpu and be done with the old pc modding for a while I mean if I can get one of these chips up to 3.6 clocked im sure its good enough to play all my games and my missus uni work!!
