What are my best options to for deciding between X79 and Z77 chips, I mainly use for gaming was trending towards Z77 but then the EVGA X79 boards are half price so might be time to change my mind ?

Would it be worth going X79 considering there cheap this week ?

Although the boards might be a bit cheaper how much more expensive are the chips?
Comparing a 3770k to a 3930k your paying 200 quid for an extra 2 cores that you probably wont need, unless your getting the board for free or have money to burn its still going to cost you a load more over a z77 based option

You can pick up a new asrock fatality and 3770k for a touch under 400 notes even the cheapest x79 and 3930 is an extra 190 quid money that would be better spent on a better or second gfx card IMO
