775 Socket protector

Any idea where I can get one of these socket protectors from?

Preferably wihout costing the earth.

You could try the MM, I'm sure there's people with some hanging around from old motherboards.

Yeah, might just do that. Surely someone has to have binned a motherboard but kept the socket

Might want them to reinforce the packaging with cardboard or something, i snapped mine whilst removing from a motherboard and then another two i got from the bay snapped in transit from bad pacakging.

Thanks for the tip, will do.

For the moment I have covered the socket with a piece cut from an old DVD case that I have taped on. It actually seems to be doing a pretty decent job.
