:confused:I am returning Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard to Over clocker and in the RMA Email it says (If you are returning an Intel 775 motherboard you MUST fit the socket protector before shipping). Please can you tell me what a socket protector is and looks like and where I can get one as I don’t have the original.

It's a little plastic square that would have been fitted to cover and protect the pins in the socket when you got the mobo.

i had to RMA my board the other week and lucky enough remebered to put it back on! Should have a yellow warning sticker on it, sayind please remove before instalation of cpu!! or summat to that effect!

Hey,

If you can't find it, i might have a spare one.

Send me an e-mail (in Trust) and I can post it to you (if I can find it :p )

Thank you
Now i must ask about RMA now i have spent a lot of time calling support about sending this board back and keep forgetting to ask what how and why (RMA) what do i do with my RMA number and do i have to pay for shipping and what dose it stand for thanks guys

Rma =

I think you have to pay for shipping, but can claim it back! Have never RMA'd to clockers but usually you have to put the rma number on the packaging somewhere, different companies have diferent policies! If in doubt stick it everywhere! thats what i did when rma'ing to a competitor!

Hope you get it sorted!
Thanks mate
but just one more thing and i will leave you alone What dose RMA stand for thanks

What happened to yours?

Well all started to go wrong so i formatted and reinstalled everything and all ok for a few days and i started to get prblems with USB divices and tried everything eg bios drivers and support (gigabyte and overclockers)
