Hi all,

Got a quick query. Can anyone spec me a graphics card that's

1. Cheap
2. Is without a power pin requirement (such as the AMD Radeon HD7750, but this is not absolutely required, it's just nice to have)
3. Can't be too long (again, around a 7750 or 7770 or 7850 with shroud at most in length)
4. Is at least as capable as that card?

My knowledge of low power cards ended with the 7750 from a few years ago so not sure what it's successor (if there is one) is, or any alternatives either.

Thanks all.

The RX 460 is what you are looking for, no PSU connection required. :)

Some GTX 950s are available without power connector, similar in performance to the 460 but more expensive.

The 750 Ti would also be an option, but you're better off with a 460 all things considered.

I would probably wait to be honest. Nvidia's GTX 1050 will likely not require a power pin, but might be the best in performance. The 1000 series is certainly incredibly strong for power efficiency/performance, I see no reason why these gains can't carry over into the 1050.

Thanks for the heads up southernorth, but unfortunately the 7750 replacement card is somewhat sought after in a hurry. And due to the currently expected release being at least a whole 5 weeks away along with a non confirmed price, that's unfortauntely not really an option in this case.

I'll put it into consideration however, in case the replacement can wait (I doubt it, gaming on an intel HD4000 is horrible :p , but let's see) and play by ear on that suggestion. Thanks! :)
