Just got my second 776 but no information on it at stanford

p776_vln3.8nopbc - lets hope it's more like 761 or 772 and not like 773, been getting lots of sub 50 pointers :(

steps are at 8+ minute intervals at 50% on a P4 3.0 running two threads

Doh! (nicely timed eh?)

Didn't see this thread before - here's how mine are doing on these god-awful things

my sub £100 newsmeister is only a few ppd behind half an X2 that cost the best part of £400 as an upgrade :o

still you know what they say.....

....every WU is sacred. every WU is great.... ;)

Yeah same here - the Bartons getting 104ppd with these 776s and it's only clocked at 1.8ghz. Strange that Rich's x2 is considerably less ppd...
hmmm odd indeed - though Core0 always seems to have a lower average ppd than Core1 on mine, must be the one that runs all the windows nonsense i guess

Hey the 775's aren't as bad. 120 points and the 3000+ ClawHammer in my lappy is getting 124.77ppd

It's funny that the 2800+ has hit 180ppd at one point cause it had a good WU but my 3200+ has a highest of 126ppd on an awful 761

I thought windows was shared between both cores equally or is that only when idle?

not totally sure - from looking through my benchmarks sometimes Core0 gets quite a bit higher ppd than Core1 so it must swap about from time to time, also no 2 WUs are the same anyway

Trick - I expect the better ppd on your Barton is due to higher RAM speeds or tighter timings maybe? My RAM is pretty slack so I can rule it out of any problems I may get with unstable Beta WUs

I'd assume that the case mate although the timings aren't great; off the top of my head I think they're cas 2.5,3,3,7. The athlon64 and the barton are currently living in a storage cupboard and don't get much fresh air in this heat. Currently the Barton is reading 68degs for the core and that's are stock speed. It used to run 2.3ghz 24/7 but I don't think it'd care for those speeds at the moment. The Althlon64 fairs better at 48degs running 2.6ghz - much better cooler. The opty is still happily crunching away at 2.8 24/7

Out of the 14 different types of WU i have had on my home box the 776 is the worst. I get 101ppd on my A64 @ 2200 the next worst is project 2051 where i get 113ppd.

Has anyone found a worse WU than this? Just asking cos i want to know what im going to get next...
