I have a ati 7790 beside my amd 8320 8 core 4ghz processor.

I seem to get quite low frame rates on WoW for example, im recommended to have everything ultra, but run around 40fps.

and same for league of legends, where on full it runs around 60-70fps.

It is running on a low budget and quite old power supply.

would it be worth upgrading the power supply? think i got it quite a few years ago.. maybe 4 years ago for around £45. it was marked as 800w.

I had 7770 from sapphire, on a 650W PSU. I had the same fps in league of legends. But in WoW i had like 30-40 in a city like orgrimmar and 80-130 in other places. If you are having 40 fps in orgimmar its fine. Try moving to the AH infront of the Auctioneer. I had 100fps+ there. Keep in mind that i had it on ultra settings. Your psu is fine. What drivers do you have?

You might gain more benefit from overclocking your CPU, it will run at maximum turbo frequency at stock volts with just raising the multiplier. If you motherboard and cooling are somewhat decent you might get it running at up to 4.5 at stock volts. This will make a big difference to the cpu performance.

You might also try overclocking your graphics card as well. I'd expect it to run at 1100 with no voltage increase, in line with other GCN architecture cards.
