So friday night came in an tried to turn on my PC, 6 bleeps and nothing on the screen
Looked online and all indications seems like the graphics card is gone on my Dell. Pulled the BIOS battery too just in case but no.
So it seems like a chance to upgrade, but i'm tied to Nivida for a few reasons including being a avid user of NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision.
So i have two options, getting a 780ti is out because they seem to be going for crazy prices everywhere, i will be playing at 1080p 4xAA on a 120Hz monitor. With a possible miontor upgrade to 1440p in the next 1-2 years and getting a Oculas Rift when they come out. i tend to play slightly older games that are 2-3 years old but will be playing Elite with the Oculas Rift
Option 1: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC - Seem to be going for very good prices right now, There's even a B grade one going for very cheap. Not far off 980 performances. And will probably upgrade again in a year or two, memory issue doesn't bother me
Option 2 : EVGA GeForce GTX 980 - Going for a whopping £449.99, but i will get piece of mind that it will play everything with a decent frame rate for the next 2-3 years, but the price is bad.
Just a side question why has the 980's gone up so much? You could get a good one for £400 a couple of months ago. Was it because everyone was dumping thier 970's because of the memory thing?
