You can get a 980 Ti for around £240 delivered on the MM.

980ti for 240ish 2nd hand is where its at, not worth spending 200 exactly on a card that's 50% slower
It's not so much "what's being released next year?", rather it's that the currency miners have been driving the price of graphics cards up and up and up to crazy levels, so your money, right now, will buy far less than it should. The card manufacturers are starting to produce special graphics cards for them that have no outputs for monitors and are as cut down and cheap as they can be - which is all the currency miners are interested in. These will start to alleviate some of the pressure, but even so the feeling is that it could take 6 months or more for prices to come down. If you want in the same quality bracket as the 780 once was, then you are talking about £500 not £200. Keep an eye on Overclockers UK though because they understand the problem gamers are having and do try to help out.
Great performance at 1080p will be a 1060 at about £330. Awesome performance at 1080p and higher will be a 1070 at £450.
