780 M pin problem

I've recently purchased a Pentium 780 M (specs here), but there appears to be a pin missing:

Before I go back to the seller and ask for a refund, I need to know if this is how the CPU is supposed to look, or if the CPU is faulty.

Cause i am 90% sure it should look like that if new.

It is second hand.

The only pics that I can find on the web show all the pins intact.

it should have a pin there, not a stem, (looking at my 2.13 P-M)

Want there some sort of mod you could do if you could snap off a pin and it would default to 200fsb rather than 166?

There is a stem there, and it looks like it's been snapped.

I've not booted it up (I don't have the correct board at the moment).

nar its definatly not how it is supposed to be..... i would contact the seller

The seller has agreed a refund, but claims that the pin is redundant (I think that he's prone to inordinate amounts of BS though - he claims to have sold 10,000 CPUs last year, many with the pin missing. I was under the impression that this chip was new this year).

I'm going to try the CPU with an adapter on my board, as I bought it for a good price, and like the fact that it's such a low voltage.

he might be right actually, it might be a ground pin.

B2 doesn't exist, and B1 is snapped - the docs refer to it as Pin Name: RSVD, Signal Buffer Type: Reserved.
