7800 gtx oc question

hi i have a xfx 7800gtx extreme edition and i believe it is pre overclocked, i fited a new cooler and tried for a bit more

it was at 490/1.3 an i did the auto thing in the nvidia settings an it set it to 516/1.35, buy after bout 20 mins of cs i got glitching.

so i nocked it down to 500/1.35 and it seems fine now i have an accelero cooler.

was wondering what people have got the gtx's to? and to see if i could get it any higher

I have the BFG one, currently sitting stock at 460/1300.

For Benchmarking i've pushed the core to 480 and mem to 1340 but thats about all i can get out of it on stock cooling.

Its getting rather warm now, hitting 80 under load in tomb raider... what does yours hit?

I've got the XFX 7800GTX XXX card like you, and have managed to get it too 500/1400 on stock cooler, but i only run it at these speeds for benching for a few more marks... When playing games i leave the card at its default settings of 490/1300 which is fast enough for any games... Card hits 80c under full load with the stock cooler, 50c idle, so i'm guessing thats ok...

Got 2 Leadtek 7800GTX and they maxed out @ 490/1320 on stock cooler

Did hit 99 once but now the highest they got to is 70 as I placed 2 80mm fans on their side... got them for a steep 10 quid but only because I liked the fan bracket they're fitted in. It's much cheeper than fitting them both with zalmans and I can live with that performance

I'm planning to mod the side panal alittle bit so that i can let 1 fan push air to the cards while the second one pulls air from the the cards power regulators area and exhaust it from the side panal. I will try to post some pics tomorrow if I got some free time.

at current speeds 500/1.35 i get 58C max in games

gues i not doin to bad them, i think i will try an push the mem a bit higher

how are u geting ** card so hot in games? on my stock cooler mine hit bout 68 full load

ok jus got to 503/1.37

not much more, but if i put mem to 1.38 an do test it says it fails :/

i cold prob get a bit more out of core but i had it at 515 an i got glitches, so think it be stayin at that now

my card came at them exact settings, does ** card have a different cooler on it than the EE? as i was able to get a bit more out of it#
