okay I'm looking to buying the 7800GS tonight if it fills its promise, so just wanted any evidence that may swing me toward the 7600GT.

My main need is a fast AGP 8x with a single slot (no twin fans as case won't support it).

here's the stats I found on Futuremark:

As identical difference as I could find:

tough one this. 7800 im guessing would be better at high rez work. but then again 7600 does have lower power consumption.

whats the price difference.

so 135 incheased by 45% = 195.75.

so your looking to increase the amount you spend for the leadtek 7600gt by 45% to get the cheapest 7800gs.

now question is: does the 7800gs offer a 45% increase in speed to work out to be £ for £ justifed in the additional expense.

the answer you looking for is: NO.

7800gs is not 45% faster than the 7600gt, its more like 8-12% faster at the most.

do you want to spend 45% more cash over the 7600gt to get a 12% return in performance? you do if you got more money than sense.

logic dictates that the 7600gt is the wiser option. the numbers do not lie!
shocking how maths actually comes in use for something

I know.
As soon as I checked the prices of the 7600 on OCUK, I immediatly thought the other cards aren't worth it (the 7800GS is on 'special offer' on AnotheR sIte)A well made choice when looking further at these so called 'super specials'.
