7800GT drivers for BF2

i use 81.98 and its pretty stable, quite a beefy OC thats memtest and prime stable but i find these drivers are rock solid whenever im unstable i can find another variable that explains it, usually internet security or the map/mod im playing
 
Does the internet security lock it up? I'm running AVAST - will that do it - I could check but its intermittant (can take up to 2 hours to show)??

edit - just checked - not running any internet security on the machine!
