Hi all.

I've just bought a new Athlon64 3700 processor and a DFI Infinity Sli motherboard. I got a BFG 7800gt oc from a mate and was wondering what sort of increase in performance in games I will get. As in, what single card would it compare to?
I've just run Aquamark 3 and I'm getting an overall score of 57000 odd.
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

Aquamark I have no idea anymore as IMO its too old to be a decent indicator of performance.

My 7800GT SLi setup on an athlon X2 3800+ returns the following 3Dmark Scores:

7784 - 3DMark2006
13637 - 3DMark2005
29234 - 3DMark2003

I can run COD2 on full details, full effects, 8x AA and 8x AF in 1680x1050 at a completely playable framerate (>60FPS for the most part, dropping in heavy smoke).

I have still got my BFG 7800GT's in Sli and are now overclocked to 500/1.20 which is'nt maxxed out. I am on water though. With my old 754 3700+ and Epox 8NPA-Sli clocked at 2.75ghz i used to get the following:-

3Dmark01 = 30633
3Dmark03 = 27928 (Never could understand why so low)
3Dmark05 = 12187
3Dmark06 = 6306
Aquamark 3 = 91001

I could run all my games maxxed out at 1600x1200 but now i have switched to a 19" TFT and changed to a 939 4000+ and an Abit AN8-32X. Clocked at 2.6ghz until my new power supply arrives i am beating all my old scores that were done at 2.75ghz. Now getting 93257 in Aquamark.

No need to upgrade my graphics cards just yet. :)

Edit* Just re-read your post and realised you have one card. When i first got my rig (754 3700+) i benched it with a single card first and your score seems a bit low. One of my BFG cards at stock could score 68648. I don't know if that is down to the difference between your 939 3700+ 2.2 ghz at stock and my old 754 3700+ 2.4ghz at stock.

Ok, thanks Guys.

What I should've asked was how much difference will I notice if I added a second card, lol.

I think my HD will be causing a bottleneck as it's a 80 gig ata133. I'll get a Sata drive 1st and see how I get on with that.

PS. I don't really play all the latest games, mainly driving games. I'm into RFactor just now and with my old setup Athlon3200XP, 2 gig OCZ platinum ddr400, and BFG GF6800gt oc I was able to play with most settings on max apart from shaddows and special effects which were turned down to high, running my card at 8x AA and 16x AF at 10234x768. But I'd like to have everything at max, 8xAA, 16x AF at 1600x1200. :D

Don't forget about SLI bugs, as with COH my 2x 7800gtx run 30% slower with 2 cards in SLI !
My x2 4400 at 2.64 / 240RAM, I get 7660 in 3dmk06 with the 7800's at stock (they won't clock as they run very hot in SLI).

My Aquamark gives 110k though I'm curious how someone gets 7784 with an x2 3800 & 2x 7800gt, what are the clock speeds?, can a 7800gt clock higher than a 7800gtx & be faster?

maybe you should consider overclocking 1st.

My 3000 and X800XT hit 53,000 stock(CPU @ 1.8GHz, GFX @ 500/500), overclocked they hit over 80,000 (CPU @ 2.8GHz and GFX @ 580/540). i would expect your system way outperform mine overclocked.
