Hi all,

My PC had a few spasms a while ago but settled down just after I gave it a good dust out, however, with the hot weather over the last 2 days I am having trouble again.

Been playing GW and every so often I get a crash, and even on occasion the map or gfx will artifact.

Downloaded ATi tool and ran scan for artifacts, it started and the Temp of temp chip option raised to 54C over 4 mins of running.

However, the GPU temp rose from the mid 30s to mid 50s then dropped down to -180c

Fan speed is 0%, is this the built in fan or any external fans? Also, the 3d image only spins once I abort the test, not during the test, is this right?

54°C GPU load temp is not a problem for any graphics card I'm aware of?

Once it hits between 90°C-100°C GPU load then various problems can appear.

If your not sure the readings are correct then you need to *carefully* touch the card with your fingers, bare in mind it could be as hot as an iron!

If you can't keep your fingers pressed against the card for more than 5 seconds it could probably do with a 3rd party cooler such as the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2

I would do some proper testing before buying a 3rd party cooler though just to make sure your not wasting money. Have you had a play with RivaTuner? thats a good program and you could maybe use it to increase the speeds og the cards fan and see if that makes any difference?
