780ti & 5820k physx question

Unless you are having issues leave it on auto-select which will usually select the GPU or select the GPU. In the few games that support more complex PhysX effects the GPU will handle them considerably faster and/or they are only enabled with GPU selected.
 
Actually it can be beneficial to force physx to run on the cpu in some rare situations. Ive had such a situation on my old kepler 780 lightning in witcher 3 where forcing physx to cpu would remove a lot of the framedrops from the game. Now of course this is a long time ago i tested this way back when witcher 3 was brand new and only a patch or 2 in, it could be different now. But as said above just leave it on auto unless you have clear performance issues. Dont poke the bear if it ain't bothering you...don't.
