780Ti PSU SLI PSU?

Am hitting 650watts with my SLI 780ti overclocked and an i7-2600 cpu (@4.4ghz) in the tombraider benchmark...;)

Expect a higher wattage useage then that in something that uses more cpu power then the tombraider benchmark

You're forgetting efficiency. Assuming its 90% (80+gold) the real load on the power supply is only 585w.

Found this on another forum

I have a 3770K at 4.6, and 2 780 Classified on water at 1.3v 1397Mhz, and when gaming, both cards at full load, and the cpu is usually somewhere around 20% load, my kill a watt shows between 750-790 Watts. I have only have 1 SSD hooked to the mobo and a blu ray slim drive, that is all.

For 2x Ti's i'd want a 1000w to be on the safe side.

Same site (evga forums )

I was benching my 2 780 Classifieds at 1.35v (using evbot) 1424mhz and my 4930k was over clocked to 4.6ghz. I checked my watt meter and it was showing 1111w running firestrike. That is a little close for comfort on my AX1200

This situation is not possible for most people. Everyone knows power consumption skyrockets with extreme overclocking.

@chaparral - How is that power being read? I wouldn't trust it tbh, you should get a reading from the socket.

Point is though it is possible for some, and the op hasn't specified what 780Ti's and how far he wants to push.

Corsair AX 860w plat £140
Evga supernova 1000w plat £150

For £10, no contest.
