Hello Gents,

I have a MSI Twin Frozr 7850 card, I have just tried to plug the HDMI in from the TV so can watch some videos on there instead of the monitor, but it is not detecting the TV. I have tried detecting in CCC & in the windows screen part.

Any help? Am I just being a fool or does something seem wrong? Surely it should just go ping and be done?

Thanks for any help you can give.
 
The cable works fine from my PS3 to the TV. So I know it does work. Could it still just be that it does not like the cable?
 
Hey guys,

Just a quick question, why are the 7850 Twin Frozrs so difficult to buy now? Was looking into X-Fire in the future possibly, if they go down a bit, but there is barely any for sale anywhere so you cannot even find a price to see how it has gone!

The HDMI on my card never did work by the way for anyone wondering about the original post :(
 
You can crossfire the 7850 with any other 7850 from other manufacturers or even a 7870.

For your original problem, an alternative would've been to use a DVI/HDMI adapter. Should still be able to get sound as well.
 
I find you have to push in the HDMI cable a lot harder into my 7950 than i do into any other device, check you pushed it all teh way in.
 
Is your tv 1080p 60hz? If so make sure your windows is set to the same. When I first plugged my 7950 into my tv it was trying to run at 540x680 and had no picture.

On my 7950 I still don't get any picture from my bios until I get into windows because some stupid reason the card wants to run the bios in 540x680 and as this isn't an hd resolution it isn't supported by my tv.

Unfortunately we cleaned the house and the HDMI cable got tidied away as well, so will retry it, as the HDMI cable we have now is different to the one that would not work previously.

Was anyone able to shed any light on the Twin Frozr situation? Why are they not available ANYWHERE anymore? Even the well known auction site has none for UK purchasing. I don't need one now, but was curious for future.

They stopped making all 7850's a few months back when they ran out of ram chips.
