Hi Guys,

Just recieved my new 7850 (have already eaten the Haribo).

I have the VTX one, which I thought was a reference design.

I am very suprised by how small it is, much smaller than my 6870, and a much smaller cooler.

Is the cooler on this going to be sufficent? I was planning on overclocking the pants off of it.

Also the PCB does not have AMD written on it. I thought that was the mark of a reference part, am I wrong?

Does it exhaust the air from the rear of the case?

The shroud will direct airflow out of the case.

Also these cards run very cool, so you shouldn't have a problem with the cooler when OC'ing.

Thanks, it is the one in the picture, except it does not have AMD written on the PCB like the one in the photo does.

Just a bit worried that I got a cheap VTX PCB that wont fit a waterblock and will wear out quicker than a reference one.

VTX PCB is reference, as is the cooler. Every retail 7850 I have seen so far has had a reference PCB.

Excellent, I'm putting together a build with a 6850 but when cash is less tight and there is more price competition (come on Nvidia!) I'll upgrade to the HD 7850, hopefully it'll be £140 by then:)
