A few days back I was posting about an issue with my new 7850 where I was seeing scan lines across the monitor. I've now discovered that 7850s apparently do not like VGA displays for gaming and produce these lines due to the converting process or something... HDMI to VGA and a single DVI to VGA (no adapter) cable do not work. My TV works perfectly either HDMI to HDMI or DVI to HDMI.

Basically, it looks like I'm stuffed unless I buy 2 new monitors that support digital signals. This to me seems a bit shortsighted by the 7850 devs. Our monitors are in perfect working condition and never had this problem with our 8800/9800 cards, why should I be forced to drop another £150/£200 each?

This is pretty much just me venting for the most part, but if anyone has any other suggestions for getting this to work I'd appreciate it. :( Did anyone else have to go through all of this or was it pretty much common knowledge and you've all upgraded to DVI already? :p

You might have more luck posting in the Graphics forum.
I use a DVI-VGA adapter for my GTX560s and my HD5770 and have no problem on my Samsung Syncmaster.
