7850's

Hi, so I started a thread asking if the 7870 is worth the extra money before. I've decided as a casual PC gamer I have no need to spend the extra money. So my plan is to get a 7850 and overclock the nuts off it!

One thing I don't get is what's the difference between all the 7850's??? (i.e. saphire, MSI, Windforce x2, VTX3D etc.)

Some are pre overclocked, different warranty lengths and some have custom coolers.

Don't rule out the MSI 7870 for £167 ~ or go with the cheapest 7850.

The cooler is important, the stock coolers tend to do well but they can be loud and some exhaust out the back of the card.

The TFIII's for example are quieter and perform really well keeping temps down and are silent, though they cost a bit more..

If you are going to HEAVILY overclock the card the choice of cooler is quite important.

I personally reccomend the MSI TF's or the Gigabyte Windforce coolers, though there are a lot of other good ones.

the msi twin frozr 3's are good,i have two of them both clock well and run cool

Ok. I'm not going to lie, I'm looking for a bargain (i.e. second hand) so I won't be buying from OC unfortunately, otherwise I would would buy the 7870.

My powercolour v2 hd 7850 is great and overclocks well. With the fan at 35% the temps are in the mid 70s which is fine
