7870 Tahiti and 14.4 driver nightmare

Hi I just did a clean install of the 14.4 drivers and first I had the PC [W764] hang on the boot screen then I found the cards performance is far worse than it was on old driver,[13.9]. So I uninstalled and went back to 13.9 and all is well again, well apart from having old drivers. In the Tomb Raider benchmark the 13.9 driver hold a good 1200 overclock on the core, with 14.4 the core speed jumps about from 1137 to 515 causing slowdowns Wolenstien the new order barley runs at all but is a lot better on 13.9. Anyone else having problems?.

Nothing like that on my HD 7970. Assume you are using the WHQL driver?

Have a read of the last couple of pages in the AMD driver thread.

I just did an fresh windows install the other day and read that first before downloading the new ones, seems there's quite a few people having issues with them. I just went with the old 13.12's i had before instead as they are rock solid.

Sounds like sticking with the old drivers is a no brainer tbh I don't change drivers from ones that are working unless I'm doing benchmarking.

I only changed driver because it was recommended for Wolfenstien, I will see if I can track down 13.12 and give that a go.
