Theres not much in it really. out of those i would pick the 7870, as its marginally faster, and has a much better cooler. Will be virtually silent when gaming which is a big plus for some people. With the latest drivers performance has increased considerably for these cards. The 660 isnt a bad card for the price now but i would be looking for one with a better cooler. Depends how sensitive to noise your friend is. :)
 
well, not very sensitve, but looking at the benches the 7870 seems to be slightly better and slightly cheaper so i think i might just go for that

7870. At 1920x1200 very are very few games where I notice any difference between this and the GTX680 within my main system.
