Hi all

Bit of a strange one, picked up one of the club 3d 7870 XT cards (LE Tahiti) in the week, installed it today but having problems.

It runs of sorts but is very susceptible to any kind of movement, to the extent if I stand the case upright it will crash the display. If you touch the card at all it will artefact and vertical line. Dirt showdown won't run at all and throws a video driver crash and restart. If you lay the case flat and don't touch it all it will run other games ok.

I can confirm it is seated correctly in the slot and properly secured, the heatsink seems to be attached as it should be.

Have tried latest beta drivers and changing slots to no avail, my HD 4850 runs perfectly in the same rig.

Any ideas what the problem might be? If not will have to rma it.

Btw rig is i7 3870, asus p8z77v-LX, 16gb Ram, seasonic 600w CPU.

Sounds like it might be solder losing contact (which is what the oven baking trick attempts to fix- though obviously I don't recommend this on a new card!). Annoying thing is that when people have had similar problems, as it is intermittent they often get sent back the same card with nothing changed as they couldn't find a fault in the position they used to test the card. But I would suggest asking about it in the customer service section, I'm sure they'll send you a new one.

Did you buy it from ocuk? If you just did return it under DSR and get another, no point RMA'ing if its still withing ocuk 14 guarantee thingy
