7900 GS or X1950 Pro?

Right, I borked my 7800GT refitting its waterblock last week and I was planning on waiting for a decent mid-range DX10 card to appear before replacing it.

But after a few days of being stuck with only an X300 SE for company I've decided to splash out £100-£120 on a card to tide me over until the aforementioned DX10 cards appear.

I can pick up a Gainward Bliss GS 7900GS for around £110 delivered or a Sapphire X1950 Pro for £125 delivered.

I play a range of games, so buying one because it's better at a certain game isn't in the equation.

So would the ATi be worth the extra 15 quid over the nVidia?

Oh and I'll be gaming at 1280x1024 on a standard 17" screen.

iv looked at loadsa benchmarks and reviews and the ati wins everytime !

the X1950 has loads more pipes than the 7900 and is a litte bit faster. I would go for the ATI card much better!

x1950pro has 12 pipes, 7900gs has 20.

if you say x1950 has more pipes then you need to go back to school and learn that 12 is a smaller number than 20.
