Well I sourced another 7900 GTX before I go x1950 on release to get all this SLI business out my system.

Having a conroe crossfire mobo required modded NV drivers.

Here are the results in 05 with my conroe at 3.6ghz.Note I had to drop the cpu speed down from 3.8ghz to maintain stability with SLI.Probably something to do with the FSB and the mobo and the pci-e slots.

Disappointing to say the least Although the cards were running at stock.
Kind of cool getting SLI to work on a crossfire conroe mobo though. :D

Will be getting a single fast card solution in the x1950 I think and move over to ATI

So 19,000 with two cards isn't too bad is it?! Pretty nice increase imho :D any issues in games and stuff? And could you drop me an email with SLI drivers you used please? I was under the impression you couldn't mod the newer ones...

TBH the increase is not worth the outlay.

Oblivion was snappier but not massively so.Games worked fine.

Add me to MSN ;)

Yeah over £600 for 19000. Bit pricey. Depends on what you want from a gfx rig.

I think that the modded drivers and the fact that its on a xfire mobo might have something to do with the score.

I feel if it was on the sli chipset and with the latest 91.33's the score might be higher.

I personally noticed a huge increase in my system in sig going from an x1800xt @ 700/800 to a 7950Gx2 @ 600/800, no stuttering at all in oblivion with 16AF and 16AA but that was at 1280x1024 (my 24" dells coming Friday), I have also seen peaks in CSS on non-HDR maps of 500fps and a constand 200fps, in HDR maps constand 60-100 fps bear in mind the AA and AF levels I am running.

BTW I totally decimate your 3dMark score :p with just 1 7950Gx2 I am pulling 11,023 and thats only because I dont know how to properly set card up for benching.

123 points more and I'm using a modded old driver on a xfire mobo running the cards at stock

Decimate is the wrong word lmao : :D

I am using 1 7950Gx2 in PCI-E 8x mode running same board, so decimated is quite correct if I fixed my card to run in 16x mode my system should be pulling 11,200+ ;).

Ack! Thats a lot more than my 7950GX2, I get 10279, what have you clocked it too and are you running your conroe @ 3Ghz ??

Do you have a 3dmark compare link ?

Cheers
