7900 vs hd5450

Looking to upgrade, currently have a 7900 512mb, would a hd 5450 1gb be a decent speed boost?

No. 5450 is a low end card that's ideal for HTPC, but not for gaming. For around £40, you'd better off getting 2nd hand 8800GT/4850 etc

There are more around 50quid and 4870 is around 70, they seem to hold price very well as many ppl buy them for crossfire.
