Ok,

Out of nowhere the colours my 7900 GTO are producing are washed out? They were fine ... now they look like the gamma/brightness is tooooo high or i'm playing in 16 bit.

Even though the colour settings are on default.

I have tried a second screen and a format to no avail. It's like a gray fog :(

Is there a bug in Nvidia drivers?

thx

EDIT: using the latest drivers btw and default clocks and the card is running very cool.

Latest drivers are reported to have poor image quality and colour reproduction according to what I have been reading over in the drivers sub-forum of the nvidia forums.

Go back a driver or two and you should be fine.

(not to mention that the latest drivers don't have the original control panel as an option :()

Could you post a link for previous drivers? e.g the last one or the one before which ever one is best.

err www.guru3d.com or http://www.ngohq.com/ are 2 good places to find drivers dude.

Right I've tried older drivers with no avail, I mean its really bad. It wasn't like this when I got the card, it just started going like this.

Do you think the card might be faulty?

EDIT: plus I games stutter a lot.

Th newest drivers do have the old control panel as an option, I am using it now. Also IQ is very good. Try using Digital Vibrance...

The grey colour sounds to me like someone was messing the the RGB curve, on the nvidia control panel , under "color correction" if the curve is wrong will display some weird colours, just try to reset to default.
All sound be 100% and gamma = 1
If not try new drivers.

Hmm, have you seen the farcry thread above? Dont suppose you have farcry and can try iot do you?

I have it somewhere, will be ableto install it & try it out later (prob tonight).
Remember there is patch 1.4 about now

^Yeah and thats the fix.

Ak can you post a screenshot of what the washed out colour looks like? from in your game.

Hi,

I had this when I swapped to the the latest .47 drivers - lost all contrast on normal screen and video playback was even worse - colours were out of true and everything was too dark.

I partially fixed it when I fitted my new 7900 GTO but still found the screen looked to pale - like the contrast is too low. I installed the 92.91 drivers from guru3d.com and everything is much better. Fonts etc are much crisper - as these are beta drivers I'm on the look out for problems but so far everything I've tried has been fine.

I've regretted installing the 91.47 from the second I put them on my system - it's taken me ages to sort it out.

Yeah i would think the RGB curve is wrong... Try drivercleaner (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Driver-Cleaner.shtml) think that is latest edition ( there is platinum edition but thats ££) try clearing drivers completely then reinstall lastest ones.
No difference try older ones (work down one by one)
or try a beta, if nothing happens then its probly your screen or card, try a new screen if no change rma card!
