So im in the market for one of these cards,at the moment I’ve got a Seasonic GX 750 gold psu which I’m led to believe is a decent psu.
The rest of the build is.

12600k
E sports duo air cooler x 2 fans
16gb ram and the 3 fans that came with the case.

Reading through a few threads on here last night it seems that the psu should be ok. The only problem is I only have 2 8 pin PCIe cables and a lot of these cards need 3. I’m unlikely to OC as I’m more of a fit and forget. Will I be able to get away with 2 cables with one daisy chained or should I just be looking only at the 2 x 8 pin models.

I'[m using two cables with one daisy chained and working fine (Corsair RX850) - If you aren't overclocking, you should be golden :) - To be honest, given you have a quality PSU, you should still be fine.

I have this card and a Seasonic prime 1000w with a 5950x cpu, it is turning off when the cpu and gpu is loaded up. Pretty sure its the power supply that is tripping. Looking at upgrading to a Seasonic prime 1600w to fix the issue.

It could be that I have daisy chained one of the pcie cables, I will try adding another cable tonight.

You might want to do the same and upgrade to 1600w.

I believe the Seasonic PRIME / Focus Gold units have a specific issue with modern cards, depending on the age of the PSU. The GX (2021) doesn't have this problem.

You don't need a 1600w PSU....

1000w is plenty for these cards, even 850w is fine. I'm running a xfx merc 7900 xtx overclocked, seasonic focus plus platinum 850w with 13600k, no issues with power tripping.

That was in the issue, I was daisy chaining one of the wires. Once I added another direct feed, the problem with the system turning off under heavy load went away. I have seen daisy chaining mentioned frequently on forums and it seems to be a real problem.
