Hi
i have just installed my new card tonight and upon booting the screen has vertical lines on it The lines are on the bois screens and the xp logo screen but they go when it has booted into windows fully. Could this be a faulty card? It looks like it to me but i wanted to make sure before i contact the oc shop.

cheers

Have you tried it on another monitor? the BIOS and initial windows loading screen will not be at the native res for your TFT and that can cause abnormalities in the image displayed...

sorry it took a while but i had to format due to changinig card makers. As for the 7900 prob, i changed the dvi port to the other on and it does not come up with the same fault, bit of a strange one.

does anyone know what the average idle temps are on this card
i ran 3dmark 05 and got 7800 with the setup in my sig and gpu at stock and it worked fine

depndant on the cooling etc but my PAlit was 50 idle and that was due to the fact my room is roasting! :P

I think they idle around 40-45 average

thanks for that. mine is about right then.

yep about the same as jrodga2k5 for the same reason my room is hot all the time , 50 idle but the most it clocked up was 66-68 on F.E.A.R. with a core speed of 630 and 1440 on the mem so it was well clocked.
When I had the PC in a diffrent room I keep the radiator of and it was 40+ bits
idle.

cheers
