I have had my Gainward 7900GS 256mb since March 07, and today after playing the first game in a while I realised the fan had stopped. It was in LFS I quit and checked the temps and it was 80 then checked the fan on it and it had stopped. I rebooted and it spun while loading Windows but as it got into Windows it appeared to stop turning. Then if I check nTune it just acts as if I have no GPU and says N/A on most thing GPU related for things like overclocking. It was set to 600mhz and 1600mhz but now I can't tell if it still is, and I used Rivatuner to clock it recently but then it started saying my driver was a beta when I had changed to a beta and reverted back to an old one. Rivatuner will not detect it now either. My driver is 169.21 on XP. I also cleaned my system using a air duster the other day but this couldn'r have done it as it stops spinning after windows has loaded, I must be quick as it is at 70 now and slowly rising. Thanks for any help.

Edit: added a mini home fan for some ghetto ass cooling, getting down towards 60.

Ah, Rivatuner was ******* fan is fixed now. Wonder how long it has been like this, and it was suprising that it didn't freeze when playing LFS at 80 deg, normally at 600mhz I will get a freeze every week in game at 65 deg. Strange.

All is now well, appears Rivatuner was raping my fan settings, now on restart it is ok, and everything detects my GPU again. Don't think it caused any permanent damage.

Have you tried completely uninstalling the drivers (including DC Pro in safe mode) then reinstalling the latest ones?
