7900GS or 7800GTX?

Aye the 7800GTX is quicker, especially if it's the 512MB model.

The 7900GS isn't a bad card at all, but I'd recommend an X1950Pro over it.
 
A stock 7800gtx is marginally faster than a 7900gs due to it having 4 more

pixel shaders (20 v 24), 4 more pixel pipelines (20 v 24) and 1 more vertex shader (7 v 8).

Although the 7900gs comes into its own when overclocking thanks to its faster (90nm) core and memory.
