7900gs

overclocking anything in a laptop isnt a very good idea, the cooling in them is barelly enough for them running at stock

I have a Nvidia 7900GS in my dell laptop , could i overclock ? whats this card like any good ?
I actually have a 7900GS in my XPS M1710 (See Sig).

The original clocks were 375/500, but my card is overclocked to 600/800.

I had to flash my cards bios with a custom one though, as Dell lock the overclocking features available in the Nvidia control panel.

What laptop do you have? Fortunately my XPS has good cooling and so the GPU temperature hasn't yet exceeded 82C. This may sound a little toasty but believe me, it's perfectly fine.

To flash the bios I followed the thread below, although this only applies to Dell laptops.

Dell 7900GS Bios Flash Guide

If you follow this guide then take things very carefully. Monitor your temperatures using a program called I8fangui, don't exceed 85C.

Be warned this voids your warranty.
