7900GT fan speed

howdy :)

I currently own a 7900GT (running at stock speeds after I killed two previously), and I'm very happy with it performance wise, so please don't reccomend I get a radeon instead ;)

My Q is, is their any way to adjust the fan settings on this card? it's a gigabyte 256meg model, and I've tried rivatuner but to no avail. funny thing is, I tried using the Gigabyte utility, and it brings up an error about not detecting a Gigabyte product.

Anywho, if anyone knows how to change the fan speed, i'd apreciate the help.
Same goes if anyone can just straight tell me that it's impossible ;) save me hours of fiddling about!
 
yes i have a vf900-cu and i used it on both my 7600gt then they 7900gs, i never bothered with the included fan controller, i just plugged the zalman fan directly into an fan headder since it is virtually silent for me even at full speed. although my case does have sound deadening installed.
 
thanks guys..
was thinking of getting the artic silencer and cutting it down so it fits the 7900.. i'm just a bit wary of aftermarket cooling after i killed 2 7900gt's already!

tho admittedly, that was whilst trying to cable tie socket A coolers on ;)

so i'm guessing driver level fan speed control isn't possible on these cards?
